an experiment in permaculture poetics

what if we became plants

          these roots above the litter

this soft darkness, this soft rain

foliage, the advancing parade

of experience, the productio poetica,

          subjectless &

our limbs are driftwood, our hair is kelp,

with a hunger

to feast on dirt &

          moths in your mouth

          fossilized branches hidden under

they, they

from their angel-eyed view

          in some places

          a swallowed sky, bordered

communing, as a verb, is what all life does

Spiral Orb is an experiment in juxtaposition, interrelationships, and intertextuality—a cross-pollination. This opening poem composts fragments from each of the pieces in Spiral Orb Nine. Standing also as the table of contents, each line is embedded with a hyperlink to its original poem. Once at each poem, you will find links to the other poems in Spiral Orb Nine.
