The Modernization Process Has Begun
Don Pomerantz

Hebrew alphabet garden

on the outskirts of the sun

a suburban flame language

clocks in reverse

the desert is in remission

jungles now gone halcyon

myth birds swarm

like oceans of haloed hair

whose fluffed

encapsulations burst

inside the bedroom

window glass

the wheels of your eyes

spin us through foreign languages

gone backwards

daylight breaks out all over us

we are an infant planet

about to speak first words
