an experiment in permaculture poetics

One

we have been in scientific studies

down towns    sub urbs    square fields    high ways

we found miniature pears, apples, and cherries to eat

a bed, a composting toilet, a desk and a bath

                   a tense buzz of birds

                                      warming to the mineral taste

                                                  around which violets gathered

     rhythm the yeses back

     atmosphere's ripe with nutrients

     this off camber falling

rough and arbitrary hardnesses

we sleep as the dust of the mountain

left out on a mountainside at birth

in a time when time was

         among yellow flowers:

it's not snowing yet, it's wind in your ears

Spiral Orb is an experiment in juxtaposition, interrelationships, and intertextuality—a cross-pollination. This opening poem composts fragments from each of the pieces in Spiral Orb One. Standing both as the opening poem and as the table of contents, each line is embedded with a hyperlink to its original poem. Once at each poem, you will find links to the other poems in Spiral Orb One. Anticipate the poems making contact with one another in an odd and perfect manner.
